Keeping in view the career factor for students, Delhi University's Campus of Open Learning has launched short-term certificate courses in 2D & 3D Animation, Radio Jockeying & TV News Reading, Theatre Acting & Presentation with association of R. K. Films & Media Academy, a pioneer media school in New Delhi, for all the students pursuing various courses with Delhi University.
R. K. Films & Media Academy (RKFMA) has been offering such courses giving its students complete practical exposure of the subjects. The trainers are drawn from the industry itself who are well versed with day-to-day working in their respective fields & able to train the students on-hand working besides the essential text knowledge. The students' placement record of RKFMA has been satisfactory. The MOU signing ceremony was headed by the University's V-C, Prof. Deepak Pental, Dr. A. K. Dubey (Registrar), Dr. Savita Dutta (Director, COL-DU) & Dr. Mamta Bhatia (OSD, COL, Keshavpuram Centre). RKFMA has also offered add-on media courses at Hans Raj College, Miranda House and Janki Devi Memorial College last year.
Prof. Deepak Pental and Mr. Bansal, both stressed upon the need of such courses in today's competitive scenario for the benefit of the students enrolled in various undergraduate & PG degree/diploma courses under the Delhi University. They also highlighted on the need of "trained & talented" pool in the media & entertainment industry, since, as per various surveys & reports, the Indian M&E industry is set grown more that 12% by 2010 due to the increasing non-stop 24 hours media channels & newspapers launching almost every fortnightly.
